This is a member of URC Vietnam Co., Ltd. – a branch of the leading Philippine food and beverage corporation URC, a confectionery factory. It not only produces a variety of biscuits, candies, snacks, and soft drinks but also brings brands that are familiar to Vietnamese consumers.

Implementation Timeframe: from 02/07/2025 to 04/07/2025
Within 3 days, the Khoi Minh technical team has carried out the entire EC Fan renovation process for the Air Handling Unit (AHU) system, considered one of the most important equipment in the HVAC system at the URC factory.

EC Fan Renovation Implementation Process

In this project, Khoi Minh implemented the EC fan renovation process for the AHU, including the following main steps:

1. Survey and Assessment of Current Status

• Technical team conducts a comprehensive inspection of existing AHUs: capacity, dimensions, equipment condition, ductwork systems, electrical & control systems.
  
• Define clear retrofit objectives: increased capacity, replacement of deteriorated equipment, or energy efficiency optimization.
  

2. Develop a detailed renovation plan for EC fans.

• Propose AHU types and technical specifications suitable for the new requirements.
• Compile a list of required materials and equipment: AHUs, filters, sensors, ductwork, accessories…
• Finalize a detailed implementation plan: schedule, resources, clear assignment of responsibilities.
  

3. Prepare materials and equipment for the EC fan renovation.

• Inspect the quality and condition of the new AHUs prior to installation.
  
• Prepare all necessary machinery and specialized tools (welding, cutting, measurement, lifting) to ensure safe and accurate installation.
  

4. Remove and dispose of old equipment.

• Disconnect power and isolate the system before proceeding.
• Safely dismantle the old AHUs, minimizing impact on the installation area.

5. Install and maintain the new AHUs.

• Clean and maintain related components: fans, heat exchangers, filters, humidifiers.
• Inspect motors, belts, lubrication, and insulation resistance to ensure long-term operation.
• Position the new AHUs, ensure accurate leveling, and secure them firmly.

6. System Connections 

• Connect ductwork, supply/drain water pipes, and condensate traps.
• Connect electrical systems, control signals, and sensors.
• Apply insulation to all ductwork to optimize operational efficiency.

7. Commissioning and Handover

• Start-up and operational testing: fan speed, pressure, airflow, temperature, and humidity.
• Recalibrate the control system and measurement devices.
• Conduct acceptance testing and handover a stable, operational system, ready for production.
